Lloyd R. Johnson was born in Harlem Hospital in New York City.  He is the oldest of Robert Lloyd and Lois Ethel Johnson's four children.  He is married to his wife, Dora, and they have two children and six grandchildren.

He retired in 2005 from selling insurance, mutual funds and offering financial planning services.  He plans to do more writing.

Lloyd has always enjoyed writing.  He has written articles for business and financial services publications.  He has contributed articles for the Christian publication, "THESE DAYS: Daily Devotions for Living" since 2007.  You may view the articles on this website by clicking one Links & Resources.

In 2009 he started a blog called, "Kingdom Speaking" which includes articles he has written on politics, religion, poverty, family history and other subjects.  Lloyd created a second blog in 2010 called "This Too Is My Story."  Links to both blogs are on the Links & Resources page.  Fools Never Raise Their Thoughts So High is his first book.

Lloyd and Dora are members of Eastchester Presbyterian Church, Bronx NY.  They are also active with Kairos Outside New York City, a ministry to women whose lives have been impacted by incarceration (see Links & Resources).  In addition, Lloyd is a faculty member of Presbyterian CREDO a program sponsored by Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) for pastors to examine their spiritual life, vocation, finances and their health.  He has completed the courses.required by the Presbytery of New York City to become a Commissioned Lay Pastor.
